The deli-counter offers a wide range of West Country cheese, including Wookey Hole cave-aged cheddar, truckles of Godminster Vintage Cheddar, Somerset Brie, Colston Basset Stilton, Cornish Yarg and Draycott Blue from Time’s Past Dairy. Then of course, we offer Gorwydd Caerphilly, winner of the super gold medal at the 2016 World Cheese Awards, which is made on-site using milk from our dairy herd.
The deli-chef makes a range of pastry goods in the oven behind the counter, including various quiches, turn-overs and pies. Although famed for her beef wellington and scotch eggs, she also makes fresh cakes to serve in Meadows or buy at the counter. Cold cuts from the butchers are also available to purchase over the deli-counter either by weight or vacuum packed in our fridges. Just ask for a slice or two to try, and you’ll be hooked. All our pork goods are one hundred percent traceable, with no food miles, as they come from pigs reared on our farm.
There is also a fresh olive counter, with a variety of pick ‘n’ mix marinated, stuffed and brined olives to choose from, as well as various olive oils sourced from the Bristol based, The Real Olive Co. You will also find a range of sauces, preserves, pickles, chutneys and honey made by regional cottage industries. There is a range of refrigerated goods such as milk, butter, yoghurt, cream, pate, and fresh dips perfect for cooking and entertaining guests. Although if you prefer, you can always dive into our freezer and grab yourself a low fuss ready meal made with care and quality ingredients.
