PUXTON PARK in Weston-super-Mare Proudly Announces Completion of

Expanded On-Site Nursery Building

Puxton Park is trilled to announce the successful completion of the Busy Buddies Nursery Expansion project. Located within the grounds of Puxton Park Estate, the nursery encompasses two state of the art buildings, countryside gardens and an impressive forest school. The nursery expansion was necessary due to escalating demand for high-quality childcare services in North Somerset, where nursery spaces are increasingly difficult to secure.

The extensive expansion has transformed the nursery's footprint from 1,668 sq. ft to an impressive 5,920 sq. ft. This significant enhancement not only accommodates a greater number of children but also generates employment opportunities, creating 20 additional jobs for early years teachers within the local community. In addition to this, the building was desgined with sustainability in mind through integrating a green heating system powered by an air source heat pump and utilising environmentally conscious materials such as cleaned sheep’s wool for insulation.

Since its inauguration in April 2020, Busy Buddies Nursery has been inundated with applications, highlighting the pressing need for reliable childcare facilities. Families in North Somerset have been enduring extensive waiting periods, some exceeding 12 months, reflecting the overwhelming demand for accessible and reputable nursery placements.

Recognising the pivotal role of outdoor learning in childhood development, the nursery's Forest School remains an integral part of its ethos. The significance of the Forest School approach lies in its ability to provide children with holistic learning experiences in natural surroundings. By integrating Forest School principles into its curriculum, Busy Buddies Nursery equips children with invaluable life skills and a profound connection to nature.

Owned and managed by Justine and Chris Bristow, both equipped with extensive training in Early Years education including SEND, Makaton, Portage, and Safeguarding, Busy Buddies Nursery promises a nurturing, safe, and educational haven for children aged 3 months to 5 years old, offering a home-away-from-home experience.
