Puxton Park Welcomes Three Adorable Woolly Piglets
Weston-super-Mare- UK– February 29, 2024 – Puxton Park,
renowned for its commitment to conservation and education, is delighted to
announce the arrival of three charming Woolly Piglets to its diverse animal
family. Hailing from Hungary, this breed is formally known as Mangalista pigs,
a breed that faced near extinction in the 1990s, with only 150 in existence at
the time. Thanks to dedicated rare breed conservation efforts, the Mangalista
population now thrives and Puxton Park is proud to contribute to their
preservation.
These delightful additions to the park's animal collection will
join the esteemed resident Queen Woolly Pig, Mildred, who has been a resident
of Puxton Park for over six years. Known for their friendliness and distinctive
character, the Woolly Piglets are sure to captivate visitors with their unique
charm.
Macauley Anderson, Head of Animals at Puxton Park, expressed
his excitement about the arrival, stating, "We are thrilled to welcome
these new additions to our park. At Puxton Park, we are dedicated to educating
the public about unusual and historical breeds and the introduction of these
Woolly Piglets aligns perfectly with our mission."
