Puxton Park has received planning permission to expand our on-site nursery building.

Busy Buddies Nursery, located in the grounds of Puxton Park Estate, first opened in April 2020. Since its opening, the nursery has been inundated with applicants, some waiting over 12 months to receive a placement. Across the UK, the nursery sector is currently struggling to keep up with the increased demand of childcare with over half of parents currently placed in a 6-month waitlist.

The expansion plans will extend the facilities current footprint of 1,668 sq. ft to a building of 5,920 sq. ft. This expansion will not only allow for more placements to be available, but it will also create additional 20 jobs for early years practitioners in the local community.

The nursery and forest school are set within the stunning scenery and vast grounds of Puxton Park Estate where children are not only provided with the finest nursery care, but they are immersed into a unique child-centered environment allowing them to play, learn and grow.

The nursery’s onsite Forest School offers children and their families the experiences of learning in an environment that has been proven to be beneficial to children, by allowing them the time and space to develop their interests, skills, and understanding through practical, hands-on experiences in collaboration with the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.

Busy Buddies Nursery is owned and managed by Justine and Chris Bristow, who both have a portfolio of extended Early Years training including: SEND, Makaton, Portage and Safeguarding. Together, they provide a home-away-from-home, fun, safe, caring and educational environment for children 3 months to 5 years of age.

Alistair Mead, Managing Director of Puxton Park, says: “Here at Puxton Park, we have a deep-rooted passion for supporting educational facilities that will benefit the local community. Puxton Park was built by my late Father and I to provide a fun, yet educational setting where children are encouraged to grow up with a love for adventure and the great outdoors. We are proud to have found business partners like Chris and Justine, who share this vision.”
