Educational Visits

Set within 40 acres of beautiful Somerset countryside, our family run farm park allows you to explore, learn and have great fun. Puxton Park was founded in order to teach families in the surrounding area about farming and the cycle of food it provides. Our dairy farm has around 250 Holstein and Jersey cows, and a milking parlour with viewing areas for the public. Having evolved over ten years, the Park is now home to a host of different animals, including both domestic and exotic breeds. The land encompasses many indigenous habitats such as a large pond, woodland, and pastures and includes a designated conservation area. Our staff do regular talks and shows with the animals in our care as part of their daily schedules and have many years of experience working with children. The animal team and colleagues have five objectives when talking to the public.

  • Encouraging learning about natural behaviours
  • The history and importance of farming worldwide.
  • Conservation here and abroad.
  • Best care methods
  • Interaction, education and fun.

Our current education theme is:

Fantastic Farming: Tour of our Animal Discovery Barn and Dairy Farm, then meeting the small fluffy animals (animal encounter) and then a tractor ride around the farm.
